Tilbury Residents Worst Nightmare - 26/05/2008
May
bank holiday Monday is normally a day of relaxing or taking
the family away on a short break holiday, but this was
proved not
to be the case for this unfortunate Tilbury family due
to the unexpected flooding that required the help of the
local Fire Emergency Services.
Well
done to Thurrock Council housing for re-housing the family

Bouquet?
A local lady North Stifford residents comments in the
local Thurrock Gazette on the 25/4/2008 has again angered
many other Thurrock residents, including myself.
Is
The Women Aware That High Road North Stifford Is A Public
Highway?
Its about time Thurrock Council got there priorities
right, High Road North Stifford is a Public
Highway, and the road should be completely
opened up to allow traffic to flow freely, that is what
vehicle owners pay a road fund licence for!!
Where
Are The Schools Or Nursery In North Stifford?
Can
Thurrock Council come up with just one good argument
why the 20mph speed limit and the non cost effective
chicane in North Stifford was justified?
FACTS.
Speed Humps / Bumps & Chicanes Cause The Loss Of
500 Lives A Year.
The London Ambulance Service claim that speed humps
result in 500 deaths a year due to their Emergency vehicles
being delayed by speed humps.

Thurrock
Council Must Take Note And Amend The Information Sign.
I
have borrowed and check a lot of Sat Navs, and I was not
surprised
to note that they are all directing drivers a safe passage
when driving north from Tilbury to the A13 via the A1089.

My
Road Safety Concerns Have Been Confirmed - 23/06/2007
The
Driving Standards Agency have just confirmed on Sky New's
that thousands of un-licence drivers are driving on our
roads.
The driving standards Agency states that people
are paying £500 for other drivers to take their
DSA practical driving test for them.
How
many of these unqualified drivers are on our Thurrock
Roads?
A
General Conversation That Is Constantly Being Repeated
In Thurrock.
It is not uncommon to come across a drivers on
our roads in Thurrock that surly do NOT
hold a full driving licence.
Damaged
And Dented Cars On Thurrock Roads Seem To Be The New Fashion.
Some of these driver's drive on the A13 at a steady 40MPH
(Not making progress) this interrupts
the traffic flow and presents a hazard to other road users,
that may result in an accident.
It Is also not uncommon to see these irresponsible drivers
learning to drive by themselves! (The signs are
obvious) have you had your suspicions when being
held up by a driver in front of you?
What
have you witnessed on our roads by stupid irresponsible
drivers?

The

DP World the (Global Ports Owners And Operators)

Construction
Is Planned This Year (2007)
The proposed London gateway Port will be a World Class
port capable of handling the largest deep-sea container
ships due to the deep berths at that location, a Logistic
Business park is also part of the development plans, and
it is anticipated that the first container berth will
be operational by 2010, and the first business units occupied
within the next 12 to 18 months.
Will
This New Port Be The Final Nail In The Coffin For Tilbury
Docks?
I anticipate that most of Tilbury's shipping
company's will take advantage of the deep water berths
and move out of Tilbury to Shell Haven, what do
you think?
Tilbury docks has the disadvantage of Shell have due to
vessels having to adjust to time tables at Tilbury due
to the rising and falling Tide's, Tilbury also has restrictions
within the entry to Tilbury Docks via the narrow Lock
gates.

Thurrock
Highways Gets On With Road Safety Improvements
To be fair, Thurrock Highways have been making
excellent progress installing some new road signs and
Cycle paths that were most urgently needed, however lets
not be complacent, its to early for the Highways team
to pat themselves on the back as there are still some
outstanding problems regarding incorrect road signs and
markings.
Urgent
Outstanding Road Safety problems.
On approach to the Asda roundabout from Tilbury to the
A1089
the road sign that in place at this present moment in
time is giving incorrect dangerous advice!
The
Picture to the right is how the road sign should look.
Also the lane markings on the Danehole's roundabout need
to be amended,
the Thurrock Gazette had letters from Thurrock resident
drivers making comments regarding the same in the letters
column this week.
