Rockcliffe put his pride and Party before
Road Safety.
At a recent meeting with Thurrock Highways regarding
a serious outstanding (road safety
problem) Cllr Terence Hipsey (a Conservative
Councillor at the time) agreed with myself
and Mrs Tredwell a respected high grade driving
instructor that the information road sign in question
was giving out the wrong information, and he would
not only have the road sign changed, he would also
get clear road markings put in place showing Tilbury
to the A1089 as a right hand turn.
What
Happened when Councillor Hipsey got back to his
Thurrock Conservative cabinet?
A
letter has now been received from Thurrock Council
and confirms that the Conservative Councilor and
Portfolio Holder for Highways Cllr Rockcliffe has
made a final decision regarding replacing the Asda
roundabout sign in Tilbury that is displaying the
wrong signage.
The
Thurrock Conservative party should be ashamed of
themselves,

remain unaltered!

cabinet member for Thurrock) say the accident
figures in Thurrock have fallen when he himself
says the figures have only been released provisionally?
I
think Cllr Rockcliffe is spouting off dreams
and begging to win votes at the next Thurrock
local election.
Thurrock’s
residents and drivers must be amazed at Cllr
Rockcliffe’s comments and wonder if
he is looking through somebody else’s
rose tinted glasses.
How
many times most weeks is the A13 closed and
traffic diverted due to accidents in Thurrock?
How
many times a week are Thurrock’s towns
and villages grid locked due to accidents
in Thurrock?
Cllr
Rockcliffe wants to get off his backside and
really make some positive commitments and
decisions that would benefit all road users
in Thurrock, he could start by correcting
Thurrock incorrect road signs and markings,
all he has done so far is to look after his
own patch, at the expense
of all Thurrock’s London road residents.
What
qualifications does Cllr Rockcliffe hold to
be given the post of looking after our road
safety infrastructure?

Conservative Cabinet respond!
