Some
Parents in Harrow Middlesex are taking desperate measures
and committing fraud by lying on school placement application
forms so that they can get their children in top Harrow
and surrounding area schools.
A spokes person for Harrow said this scam will not be
tolerated and offenders will be prosecuted.
Some
Thurrock Parents cannot get their school placements for
their children in school areas where they live in Thurrock
why is this?

Are
Thurrock's School Teachers Over Worked?
Sadly
the answer to the question is probably yes, although technology
has allowed education to progress forward at a very fast
speed, a lot of children and young adults are being left
behind, is this because class sizes are to large and teachers
cannot cope? or is it due to some teachers / tutors not
being trained properly?
Before
All You Thurrock Teachers Get On Your High Horse's
Before I carry on with the three D's topic above,
I would like to clarify my comments regarding the wording
(some teachers) before I get my email
box full up with angry teachers comments.
A Big
Thank You
To A Purfleet School Teacher.
My family Say A Big Thank You To A Very Observant
Purfleet Teacher.
My very young Grandaughter was diagnosed with cataracts
behind her eye's, this would not have been recognized
if was not for a very observant teacher at Purfleet school
(Tank lane) that brought to my daughters attention that
my grandaughter was having a problem due to her not being
able to read the black board.
This observant teachers feed back has resulted
in my grandaughter having several operations on her eyes,
she is now back at school and achieving very high marks
on her work.
My
Deafness Slipped Though The Education Net.
My
Own Experience Of School Holds Bad Memories.
I
am very disapointed with my lost education days
due to
my deafness going unchallenged throughout my infant and
senior school days, I can recall my desk was always at
the back or somewhere about the middle of the class room.
My Teachers Did Not Recognize My Deafness.
I realize now that my teachers were ignoring me because
they thought that I was not paying attention, it goes
without saying that my past teachers did not even think
to consider that I may have a problem that would effect
my learning progress!
I wonder Why?

The Three D's
Are Still Going Unchallenged |
The
Year 1993 Opens My Eyes To The Scale Of The Three D's
Problem.
I have now started the driving school and and
was pleased to find that a lot of driving instructors
were giving me pupils that they said were extra's to their
requirements, saying there are only so many hours in a
day, if this is correct, why did the driving instructor
take the new pupils on!
Some
Driving Instructors Really Have No Patience.
It did not take me long to find out why I was getting
a lot work put my way, some driving instructors did not
want the pressure (to be honest) some
driving instructor did not have the required patience
that would be needed to teach a pupils with learning difficulties,
all
the pupils that were given to me in 1993 were either Dyslexic
or the pupil had other medical problems that would not
allow them to progress learning to drive at a speed that
they would have liked.
Patience
Is A Virtue And Honesty Is The Best Policy.
I don't have this problem with any
of my pupils, when I first meet them I go through the
normal meet procedure regarding documentation (Licence)
etc. I then asked the pupil if they are dyslexic or if
they have any other medical problems that may affect there
learning to drive.
On most occasions the pupils answers no, only for me to
find out in a very short time that some pupil have coordination
or other problems that they they are totally unaware
of, at this point I am totally honest and inform
the pupil that they will pass the practical driving test,
but they must be patient as the driving course is going
to take a little longer than the average time.
Conclusion.
After 14 years of driver training, I have only
one pupil that informed me that at the age of 18 years,
a university tutor informed her that she was dyslexic,
she did not believe the tutor and made arrangements that
required three hours of test that confirmed the tutor
to be correct, the pupil had gone through Thurrock schools
and Palmers College without her dyslexic problem being
picked up sooner WHY?
Answer.
Because some Thurrock Teachers and Tutors were not aware
of her problem!!
Are there any teachers out there that would like
to comment?
