Road Safety MIGHT Improve in Thurrock
3/03/2011

Devonshire road weight Limit MUST be Lifted.
Common Sense Prevails, at last the penny may have dropped and road safety in Thurrock might get a positive move forward in the right direction, if this consideration transpire's the the councilors responsible should pat yourselves on the back.

Not in our back yard!
Past and present Thurrock Conservative councilors Garry Hague, Tunde Ojetola, Neil Rockliffe, and Steve Veryard should be ashamed of themselves by putting there own interest first, these councilors have launched an online petition against the lifting of the weight restriction, guess where these councilors live! Chafford Hundred come's to mind?

DO NOT SUPPORT
The inconsiderate C/Hundred Conservatives Campaign.

Take Note.
Devonshire road was built as a relief road for London Road and West Thurrock

Dangerous Pot Holes

Clock House Lane North Stifford

New Traffic Calming - I don't think so!
Its nearly a month since the bad icy weather in December 2010 has passed, and our Thurrock roads have now become dangerous due to the new pot holes and more new flooded road areas in Thurrock.
Replacement window screens and damaged vehicle suspension is not being taken lightly.

Click the images to enlarge and note the stones and grit on the road.

UPDATE - 8/5/2011
Auto Screens May have a field day!
90% Holes filled, but Clock house lane is still a hazard for vehicles due to the vast amount of stones a debris on the roads, the results from the pot holes.

Who Are They Kidding

The Port of Tilbury Proposals Don’t Add Up.
Tilbury's Road Infrastructure Cannot Cope

(Port of Tilbury Proposals)

The yellow area (A) shows the proposed lorry park

I personally welcome any progress that would make Thurrock a better place to live, but, not at any cost.
I visited the Port of Tilbury’s exhibition at the Tilbury Cruise Terminal on the 30th March 2010 regarding the Port of Tilbury’s attempts to bulldoze through planning permissions to expand the port of Tilbury’s foot print that would NOT benefit the people of Thurrock that they are suggesting.

Yes Thurrock does need a lorry park; however, any new lorry park must be sited away from residential areas and nearer to the A13 & M25.

Thurrock's Flooding Problems

24/1/2011

Fort Road Tilbury - 24/1/2010
Fly tippers fill Tilbury's ditches in Fort road Tilbury with junk and rubbish for over a mile!

(Click the images above to enlarge)

What are Thurrock Councilors going to do about it?
Tilbury in Thurrock Essex has a very high risk of flooding and all drains and flood plain ditches must be kept clean and clear of rubbish at all time's.

UPDATE - 8/5/2011

Still no action been taken!

Are These New Red Road Markings
Legal?

What Books Can I find these New Rules in?
The rules in the official Highway Code and other UK official department of transport books are not showing any red paint in the images!

Why am I Seeing Red Paint in Thurrock's (chevrons) Hatch Markings?
Has Thurrock Councils Highways department got a different (up to date) Highway Code rule book to the rest of us?

Confusion & Hesitation Causes Accidents
Check out the official Highway Code Rules below relating to Chevrons and hatch Markings (Areas of white diagonal stripes)

The Official Highway Code
Rules

Areas of white diagonal stripes

if the area is bordered by a broken white line, you should not enter the area unless it is necessary and you can see that it is safe to do so

if the area is marked with chevrons and bordered by solid white lines you MUST NOT enter it except in an emergency

Thurrock Council Highways
MUST
Get the Road Safety Priorities Right!

Why have Thurrock Council Highways allowed the Hatch Markings that are bordered with solid lines at the Chadwell hill cross roads been allowed to deteriorate?

This has been an ongoing Road safety problem since 2001 (click here)

UPDATE 8/5/2011
Hatch Markings are not in place at the staggered Chadwell Hill Cross roads

Stop The Right To Buy

Maggie Thatchers Right To Buy Got This Country Into This Mess!

Do You Know That Your Council Housing Stock Is Diminishing Daily.
For many years when we have got engaged or married we have had the opportunity to be accommodated in a Council flat or House, that was until Maggie Thatchers Conservative Government changed the rules to win over voters!

No More Selling Off
Council Houses

There Will Always Be A Need For Council Housing.
The Labour Government must act responsible now and stop the right to buy regarding Council properties.

Breathing Space Is Needed While Saving Up The Pennies.
The best way to give our hard working Nurses and teachers, and our children a start in life is to start building more Council flats and houses with rents that are affordable, this breathing space would solve the housing shortage problem and also allow the next up and coming generation a chance to save up to buy their own property.

Thurrock Council Cannot Collect Revenue From Boarded Up Houses!
How many Thurrock Council houses are standing empty longer than necessary?

Thurrock Council
Must Get Tougher

Thurrock Council Fails To Collect £2.1m Council Taxes 19/9/2008
According to the (free News paper) The Enquirer, Thurrock Council registered the second highest figure in Eastern England regarding £2.1m outstanding taxes from 2007 to 2008 financial years.

The Cash Shortfall Will Result In More Hefty Local Tax Rises In Thurrock's
It Does Appear that Thurrock Councils Conservative Administration needs to get its act together, and then maybe we can achieve lower Thurrock Council taxes, tax is only fair if we are all made to pay.

Will These Outstanding Taxes' Be Written Off?
What action is Thurrock Councils Conservative Administration going to take to correct this outstanding scandalous problem?

Thurrock Council should be more forceful in recovering outstanding Thurrock Taxes

Update 5/5/2011
How much rent and council tax did Thurrock Council fail to collect up to to date?

Just read the Gazette 5th May 2011.
Thurrock council is still owed £millions in council tax and rent, it looks like Thurrock council is a soft touch and they are not setting a good example to collect these staggering outstanding monies.
