Christmas Light's Switch On - 21/11/2008
Tilbury's Christmas lights and all the fun of
the faye takes place on friday 21st November.
The fun kicks off with the switching on of the
Tilbury's Christmas lights at 4pm.
Andrew
McKinley the RT Hon MP for Thurrock will be there to lead
the count down to switching on the lights

Recent Survey
Thurrock roads have been condemned
As among the most dangerous in the country.

Must All Participate To Improve
Road Safety In Thurrock.
 New
Road Sign's And New Cycle Path's Are A Great Improvement.
It has been noted that Thurrock Council's Road
safety Committee and the Highway's Department have been
very busy over the last couple of year's installing
new road sign's and the much needed cycle Path's,however,
we must all not get complacent as there is still along
way to go.

The recent accident survey figures for Thurrock are
very disappointing and embarrassing to all concerned.

The survey reports that Thurrock road users are more
likely to be seriously or fatally injured in road traffic
accident's than anywhere else in the east of England.

Thurrock's Recycling Look's To Be Stepping Up A Gear

Well
done Cllr Steve Veryard and the Conservative Recycling
team for the progress that has been made regarding Thurrock's
recycling improvements expected very
soon, let's hope Tilbury is included in the recycling
up grade?
We Welcome The New Recycling Bin's.
I get so fed up seeing all the air borne waste paper
and debris being blown around our streets that has managed
to escape from the small overflowing blue boxes, the
new bin's will help to keep Thurrock's street's a little
cleaner,
although I have noticed an increase in street cleaner's,
there is still a long way to go to loose Thurrock's
bad inherited dirty image.
Let's hope the Council Tax does not increase
to fund this excellent recycling improvement.

Who Should Be Held Responsible?
Contractor
Should Be Responsible For Maintaining Gas Appliance Safety
Certificates Are Kept Up To date!
Once a 12 Month Gas Appliance Service Contract has been
signed over to any Corgi Registered Gas Contractor to
service all Thurrock Councils properties, the Gas Contractor
should be held responsible for making sure that all Thurrock
Councils Gas alliances are serviced within 12
months.
What
Is The Point Of A Contract If The Council Is Still Held
Liable?
Is it a joke that Thurrock Council can award
a very big costly contract to any Contractor without having
the words written into it to protect Thurrock Council.
The Contract that has been awarded to the Gas appliance
service Contractor should take all responsibility away
from Thurrock Council and therefore moving the Gas Safety
Certificate liability to the contractor who MUST
be held responsible for keeping all Gas appliance safety
certificates up to date.
How
Many Other Council Contractors Are Working To 10 Months

Is Thurrock Council Getting A Good Deal From The
Present Gas Contractor?
We have received a letter from one of Thurrock Councils
Gas Contractors informing
us that our gas boiler MUST be serviced
every 10 months!, and they need to access our property
to service our boiler (read
the letter) I have been researching the internet and
find other Corgi Gas Contractors service gas boilers every
12 Months!
Even
the New Contractors own Stationary contradicts there own
facts, the letter says boilers have to be serviced every
10 months, (click

Why
Has Thurrock Council Allowed This 10 Month Gas Boiler
Service Contract?
Thurrock
Council has 9.186 residential properties with gas installations
and if Gas boilers are serviced two months earlier than
necessary it will incorporate an enormous unnecessary
extra cost to Thurrock Tax payers.

AM GOB SMACKED
This Is One Big Expensive Clanger that has been dropped
by the present Thurrock Conservative Administration
UPDATE.
Councilor John Kent has responded to my email
and has confirmed to me that he is going to look into
this outstanding problem.

Council Fails To Collect £2.1m Council Taxes 19/9/2008
According to the (free News paper) The Enquirer, Thurrock
Council registered the second highest figure in Eastern
England regarding £2.1m outstanding taxes
from 2007 to 2008 financial years.
The Cash Shortfall Will Result In More Hefty Local
Tax Rises In Thurrock's
It Does Appear that Thurrock Councils Conservative Administration
needs to get its act together, and then maybe we can achieve
lower Thurrock Council taxes, tax is only fair
if we are all made to pay.
What
action is Thurrock Councils Conservative Administration
going to take to correct this outstanding scandalous problem?

Asda Roundabout Incorrect Information Sign Is Still Giving
Out Dangerous Information.

Council Must Take Note And Amend The Information Sign.
I
have borrowed and check a lot of Sat Navs, and I was not
surprised
to note that they are all directing drivers a safe passage
when driving north from Tilbury to the A13 via the A1089.

Council Highways Are Making Progress - 24/04/2007
Thurrock
Highways Gets On With Road Safety Improvements
To be fair, Thurrock Highways have been making
excellent progress installing some new road signs and
Cycle paths that were most urgently needed, however lets
not be complacent, its to early for the Highways team
to pat themselves on the back as there are still some
outstanding problems regarding incorrect road signs and
markings.
Urgent
Outstanding Road Safety problems.
On approach to the Asda roundabout from Tilbury to the
A1089
the road sign that in place at this present moment in
time is giving incorrect dangerous advice!
The
Picture to the right is how the road sign should Be Amended.
Also the lane markings on the Danehole's roundabout need
to be amended,
the Thurrock Gazette had letters from Thurrock resident
drivers making comments regarding the same in the letters
column this week.

The Picture to the right is how the Roundabout
leader board should be giving direction.
