Thurrock Gazette Letters Page - 22/09/2006
It was interesting to see two more letters in The Thurrock Gazette
from Mandy Wallace and Labour Councilor John kent enforcing my recycling story below, by asking Thurrock Council to improve Thurrock's recycling by supplying larger blue recycling bins to all households in Thurrock.

Thurrock MP Says We Need To Recycling More - 01/09/2006

Thurrock Gazette - 01/09/2006
I support MP Angela Smiths most welcome comments in the Thurrock Gazette regarding everybody should recycle more.

But Is Thurrock Council Doing Enough ?
Thurrock Council could lead the way by implementing three changes to make this request a reality.

Bigger Recycle Bins.
The Recycle Boxes that everybody uses at present are to small, and results in many residents using extra bags that are left on top or around the box causing a problem on windy days with paper being blown around the streets, adding to the cost of street cleaning.

The problem can be resolved by giving households another blue Wheely Bin.

Should Recycling Be Compulsory?
Thurrock residents should be encouraged to recycle by making it Compulsory.

Free Appliance Pick Up.
Thurrock Council could arrange for the Cleanaway Contractors to pick up Elderly residents large Item's like Cookers and Fridges FREE of charge.

We All Have A Duty To The Elderly Folk.
Senior Citizens cannot afford to pay the Contractors £20 or £30 pick up fee's.
