| A
Tilbury Residents Worst Nightmare - 26/05/2008
May
bank holiday Monday is normally a day of relaxing or taking
the family away on a short break holiday, but this was
proved not
to be the case for this unfortunate Tilbury family due
to the unexpected flooding that required the help of the
local Fire Emergency Services.

Thurrock Councils Un Serviced Blocked Drains.
Thurrock's
history of blocked drains will not help Thurrock's ongoing
flooding problems. Thurrock Council may think they are
saving money by not keeping a regular surface drain cleaning
programme, but in the long term, residents may suffer
the consequences.
Does Your local Thurrock Council Really Care About
You Getting Wet Feet?
I sometimes think they don't, some of the road surface
drain photo's on this web site will open your eyes, you
will then start to wonder if your insurance policy will
be valid if you have any blocked drains around your property!

Could
This Be Tilbury's Very Own Swimming Pool?
Thurrock Council MUST take action regarding making use
of this waste of space, maybe a Private company would
like to take it over and change its former use to a Swiming
and Keep fit centre!
What
do you think, Your comments in the
(Guest book) please.
Tilbury
Town Station Access Campaign Continues.
C2C
Has An Obligation To The Disabled And Parents With Perambulators.
Tilbury
Campaigner John Morris of Arkwright Road said, we knew
the commission was changing and welcomed the fact that
the RT Hon MP for Thurrock Mr Andrew McKinley is chasing
this long outstanding problem with all the people concerned.
Tilbury - Earmarked For Hundreds Of New Property's
To Be Built.
Tilbury is already seeing the fast changes taking place
regarding the the hundreds of flats and houses that have
been built over the last couple
of years, and in the next few weeks the Universal Tyre
Company in Calcutta Road will be moving to the industrial
area near Asda as their site has been purchased by developers
to build more flats that will be erected at this site.
The
Disabled & Family's With Small Children Must Fit In
The Plans
Now Redrow Homes has applied for permission to build more
property's on land adjacent to the A1089 (The Dock Road
Approach road)
Are Local Thurrock Planners Putting The Horse
Before The Cart?
Thurrock Council MUST make sure that
the appropriate infrastructure is in place for all concerned
before allowing developers to move forward to quickly,
or are the council going to make the same mistakes
they made 25 years ago, see below.
Asda
Was Built 25 Years Ago - Where Are The Safe Road Crossings
For Pedestrians?
Asda (Walmart) Tilbury was built over 25 years ago and
no plans were ever in place for crossings for the local
Tilbury folk who shop at Asda.
Every day Tilbury people are taking their lives
in the hands to cross three busy roads to access Asda!

Redrow
Homes Believes Tilbury Could Have A Bright Future -30/7/07
How
Many Council Houses Will Be Built Within The Plans?
By now Tilbury residents should have had a nice glossy
leaflet drop through their letter box informing everybody
that Redrow Homes wants to build houses and other facilities
on some of the fields (Green Belt land)
adjacent to the Dock approach road, and to the east towards
the New Academy College being built at present.
The
Government has stated that a percentage of ALL NEW housing
will consist of Council Dwellings!
Who
Are Redrow Housing Trying To kid!
They are also informing us that the Dock and surrounding
area's will result in the creation of 13,000 to
16,000 new jobs in the area!!
Where will these magic New jobs come from?
How many jobs will be required to man a couple
of shops?
There will be many jobs on the building project, and then
they will disappear.
Tilbury's Road Network & Important Infrastructure
Needs To Improve First.
I personally welcome any progress that would make Tilbury
a better place to live, however, not at any cost.

Tilbury's
Anchor Public House Is No More - 26/07/2007
The Anchor Is A Listed Building.
I have noticed on my travels around Tilbury that the Anchor
Public house in Tilbury Civic Square is now shut and boarded
up.
It Must Not Be Pulled Down For Housing!
Feed back from local shop owners in the square have informed
me that the Anchor has been purchased by a property developer.
Orsett Cock Public House Refurbished.
The property developer that purchased the Anchor
Pub was responsible for the refurbishment of the Orsett
Cock Public House in Orsett, lets hope that the same out
come will happen to the Anchor, then local residents will
continue to benefit from the only Public House left in
Tilbury.

Tilbury's Facelift Update's - 25/08/2007
The Calcutta Road Workingmen's Club (Tute) Has
Disappeared.
The face of Tilbury moved up a gear when the
old Tute Workingmen's club that was located in Calcutta
road Tilbury was domolitioned in March 2006.
Tilbury Docker's Favorite Drinking Hole.
The Tute was a favorite drinking hole for many Tilbury
Docker's, and the club was used by the big trade Unions
during the big dock strike.
The club stood empty for a few years before vandals set
fire to it on several Occasions, that resulted the building
becoming unstable and dangerous.

The picture to the right of the old Tute was
supplied and is (C) to Peter Marshall Visit Peters web
site. http://www.mylondondiary.co.uk

Tilbury's New For Old Is Taking
Shape.
The picture to the right is the new building that is taking
shape on the foot print of the Old Tute's location, the
building partly shown on the right is the old T&GWU
office that is now
a shipping office.
Pictures Required Please.
Have you got any old Picture's of Tilbury or the Tute
of years gone by?
The Roof Is Now On.
The New building is making excellent progress and it is
only a matter of time before the Universal tyre Company
next door moves to the Asda Industrial park making way
for more demolition and a block of flats to rise from
the ground.
Is Tilbury's Infrastructure Being Left Behind?
Buildings are going up fast, but what about Tilbury's
neglected infrastructure, we need more schools and Doctors!

C2C Fails To Provide A Service To The Disabled - 22/01/2007
The Local MP For Thurrock - The RT Hon MP Mr
A. McKinley Battles On.
It is disgusting how C2C can get away with not providing
a proper access way to Tilbury Town Station for the disabled
and Mothers with prams.
C2C Needs To Demonstrate To The Public That They
Caring Company.
C2C are a disgrace for dragging their feet and prolonging
this much needed facility
I hope the RT Hon MP A. McKinley starts banging the commons
table with more vigor

A debate is still ongoing regarding the missing Millions
that was allocated for the

No big changes are evident in Tilbury, and we understand
from reading the local Media (Thurrock Gazette) that the

What Was The Money Spent On?
A lot of answers are required from the people responsible
for the disappearance or allocation of the missing £Millions,
their answers may restore the Confidence of the Thurrock
Electorate.

Has The New College Got An Off Road
Parent Car Park ?
If the New Thurrock Community College has not got an off
road car Park for picking up their children there is going
to be a lot of frustration and road rage at a later date
see below.
Heavy HGV traffic was at it's worst on the only
three roads out of Tilbury.
This included, Marshfoot Lane, and Chadwell road,
both of these roads go past the New Thurrock Community
College being built at present!
Road Rage.
How will drivers cope at this Junction if the College
exits are on Chadwell Road or Marshfoot Lane?
